Activities

You can choose to have private meals on the wide verandahs, enjoying the beautiful views to Mt Warning.
Every evening, we dine at our large dining table, which can easily seat ten people. Tea and coffee are available at all times.
If you enjoy a drink, please remember to bring your own alcohol.
Local Attractions
Tyalgum is our nearest village, just 5km from here. Stroll into the arts and crafts shop for local handicrafts and homewares, or enjoy fresh from the oven treats with your coffee at Flutterbies Cottage Cafe, a coffee and gift shop situated in the "Old Bakery" building circa 1926.
Top up or refresh supplies at the Tyalgum General Store or Bartrims Garage, located in the old Norco Butter Factory, adjacent to Norco Park which provides day picnic facilities with a BBQ, tables and public toilets and a stunning view to Mount Warning.

Tyalgum has convenient access to Wollumbin National Park and Mebbin National Park, and very steep access (not recommended) on foot to the Border Ranges and Lamington National Parks. Hikers Heaven!

Murwillumbah is a picturesque town steeped in history, sitting on the eastern foothills of the McPherson Range and located on the pristine Tweed River.
With spectacular Mt Warning as its backdrop and patchwork cane fields along the Tweed River, many Art Deco & Federation style buildings, Cinema (Circa 1947), alfresco cafes and a diverse range of people are just some of the features that make Murwillumbah such a special place. Murwillumbah has been nominated as one of the top ten sea/tree change towns in Australia. It boasts the highest winter temperatures in New South Wales.
Every weekend there are colourful local markets within an easy drive from our home:
Mt Warning National Park and the base of the climb is a 20 minute drive from here, and the climb is well worth while. We are close to many National Parks - the Mebbin State Forest and The Natural Arch. Take a spectacular drive through the Border Ranges stopping off at the lookouts at Blackbutts, The Pinnacle and The Loop leading to the Tweed Valley Lookout.

We are a 40 minute drive from the beautiful and uncrowded beaches of Fingal and Kingscliff. These include some leash-free dog exercising areas, as you can see from the photos below of your hosts Chris and Pete, Albert the Pug and Joey the Kelpie all enjoying the beach.
Closer to home, you can take an ambling stroll south to the base of The Pinnacle which is about 3.5km from our front gate.
